  1. Timing

Timing is everything, You have to know when to eat and when not to. If you start to skip more than 3 or 4 hours without a meal, your system goes in starvation mode and starts storing fats in the wrong places. So, before you go to bed, there is no way your body’s metabolism is going to speed up if you’re on a 1200 calorie a day diet. It’s advisable to start your day by having breakfast, from 6 am to 10 am if you want to lose weight. By doing so, it will aid in the reduction of accumulated body fat in the body and make you feel a lot less hungry throughout the day. It’s not recommended to skip breakfast if you intend to lose weight.

  1. Portion Size.

As opposed to a few regular size meals every single day, make it 6 small meals! Take a typical meal you normally would eat for one meal and spread it out into two meals. For example, start your entire day with a fantastic breakfast filled with complex proteins and carbs. Eat half of your lunch three hours later and at lunchtime eat the rest. Then, three hours after lunch, eat a small meal of vegetables and lean meats, or veggies and fruits, then three hours later eat the other 50 % of your dinner, and finally a higher protein snack a few hours later, before bedtime.

  1. Types of Foods.

Do not Eat Sugary Foods, artificial sweeteners, and saturated fats. They are lower in fiber and water; therefore, this will slow down digestion, which can cause weight gain and leave you feeling bloated. Instead, fill whole grains to your diet, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and legumes. If you’re thinking about going vegetarian, many leafy green vegetables also contain protein, we have an article covering this on our site. Fruits, vegetables and whole-grain products provide complex carbohydrates that aid in keeping our energy levels up minus the spike in blood sugar levels that is often brought on by processed, sugary foods.
