Ghana has recorded two confirmed coronavirus cases in the capital city, Accra. According to the Ghanaian Health minister Kwasi Agyemang-Manu, The two infected patients entered the country from Turkey and Norway. The patients entered Ghana one week before symptoms began to show, meaning all the people the Covid-19 infected patients came in contact with might have been infected with the Virus as well.
According to the Authorities, They have begun tracing and tracking down everyone who has been in contact with the two Covid-19 patients.
As stated by BBC, The patients entered the country a week before the symptoms began to show. The two reported Covid-19 cases in Ghana were confirmed as of March 12, 2020.
Laboratory results of the two confirmed cases were received at the same time from the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research.
According to the Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah The infected patients are currently being isolated. The Ghanaian Health Association has currently organized a 100-bed facility in a remote area to quarantine suspected Coronavirus victims. The Ministry Of Health (MoH) in Ghana urges all Ghanaians not to panic.
