Ghana Has Legalized Cannabis For Health and Industrial Purposes
On Friday, 20th March 2020, The Government of Ghana passed a law to legalize the use of cannabis for health and industrial purposes.
The Hemp Association in Ghana (HAG) has signed a contract with a Ghanaian Cannabis Business operator residing in Portugal. The deal is expected to generate over $55 million in the next 5 years from exporting medical & industrial hemp.
According to the President of HAG (Hemp Association Ghana), He stated, the legalization of cannabis in Ghana is not aimed at promoting or encouraging smoking in any way but to create a new revenue stream for the government and also to clean up the environment.
