Justice For Izu – A Young Nigerian man Commits suicide after being accused of rape
The hashtag #JusticeForIzu is currently trending on twitter after a young Nigerian man who goes by the name Izu allegedly committed suicide after he was falsely accused by a social media influencer of rape.
Nanichi Anes, the twitter influencer who reportedly accused Izu of rape published his name and other names as men accused of rape on 29th June 2020 on her Twitter account. According to reports sent to the media, the deceased tried clearing up his name by reaching out to Nanichi but she refused to cooperate.
Izu later left a note apologizing to whomever he might have “sexually harassed” even though he expressed that he didn’t have a clue what he did or who he hurt that prompted him being blamed.
His last tweet was on Friday, July 17, and it peruses: “Oh and if you’re reading this, I’m dead lol.”
He in the end killed himself and Nanichi Anes has deactivated her account after Izu’s suicide was made open.
Right now, Nigerians are requesting Justice for Izu.
