How to Check Your CSSPS Placement

The Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) is the official mechanism used by the Ghana Education Service (GES) to place Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates into Senior High Schools (SHS) and Technical/Vocational Institutes (TVET). Follow these steps to access your results:

  • Have your Index Number ready: Ensure you have your 10-digit index number and the last two digits of your year of completion (e.g., 26 for 2026).
  • Use the Official Portal: Always use the official government link provided in our tool to ensure your data security.
  • Print Your Placement Form: Once your placement is confirmed, download and print your placement form immediately for your enrollment process.

What is Self-Placement?

If you are not automatically matched to one of your chosen schools, the CSSPS self-placement portal becomes available. This feature allows students to select schools from a list of available vacancies. It is crucial to monitor the portal closely during the self-placement window, as schools fill up quickly on a first-come, first-served basis.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What do I do if I am not placed in any school?
If you receive a "not matched" notification, log back into the portal when the self-placement module is activated. You can then search for schools with available slots in your preferred region.
Can I change my school after being placed?
Generally, automatic placements are final. If you have valid concerns (such as placement in a boarding school when you opted for day, or a mismatch in location), visit the nearest CSSPS Resolution Centre in your region.
What are the requirements for enrollment?
After getting your placement, you will need your printed Placement Form, BECE result slip, and school prospectus (which contains the list of items you need to report to your new school).
Is there a fee for checking placement?
Checking your placement online is free. Be wary of individuals asking for money to "fix" your placement—this is often a scam. Always follow the official GES/CSSPS guidelines.
