Iquan Trapsoman Tape
Iquan, a Ghanaian reggae dancehall artist from Dansoman, has a new tape out now on all the major streaming platforms.
“Trapsoman is an extended description of Dansoman from my point of view. Dansoman is one of the most peaceful towns in Accra but also has a lot of vices rooted in this area. Every kind of character can be found in this area, and with that, Trapsoman sounds like an arrangement of episodes. Due to a lack of employment and financial resources, the youth are influenced by the vices in the hood. So every youth ends up in the trap one way or another. “
Check out Fulla Vices and No Stories. This is also what the Bandit had to say about the Trapsoman tape:
“Trapsoman is not just a tape, but a series that portrays the lifestyle of people in Dansoman. Due to my lyrics and mood for every song, it gives you a perception of the location itself.”
The first song featured Marince Omario. The originator of the Fu genre. Fu is defined as a “futuristic fusion of sound and various waves.”Marince explains that there is a genre that bridges the ancient and generations to come.” This makes No Stories a fusion of both dancehall and Fu.
“As a collective, the songs on the tape constitute to giving you a part of me through the moods that arise while listening to the tape, making it conscious and spiritual.” – Iquan
