Twitter Blue: Twitter Integrates NFT Verified Profile Picture Feature

Twitter has added a function that allows users to formally validate the NFTs they use for their profile images. Previously, anyone could right-click and copy an image, and there was no way to prove ownership without checking the Ethereum blockchain.

Only paying subscribers of Twitter‘s Blue service have access to the functionality, which was launched on January 20. Instead of the conventional circle border used for profile photographs, official NFTs will have a hexagonal border.

The move is the company’s most significant foray into the NFT market to date.
Over the last several years, Twitter has become the crypto industry’s preferred social media tool.

Wily hackers can get around this by copying the image, minting an NFT with a blockchain address, and uploading it to their profiles.
Twitter has yet to say how it plans to deal with any potential data theft.
