Accra Metropolis – Municipality in Ghana
Accra Metropolis, part of the Greater Accra Region, is the most densely populated area in all of Ghana. Its epicenter is the nation’s capital, Accra. As the country’s administrative, cultural, and economic center, it plays an important role. Adabraka, Osu, Labone, and East Legon are just some of the neighborhoods that make up the metropolis.

The University of Ghana, the Ghana Stock Exchange, and the country’s administrative center are all located in Accra Metropolis.Moreover, the city’s business sector is booming, with headquarters for a great number of multinational corporations located there.
In addition to its modern attractions, the city is proud of its historical and cultural landmarks, such as Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, Independence Square, and Labadi Beach. Besides its exciting nightlife, the city is well-known for its thriving markets, such as the popular Makola Market.
As of 2023, it was estimated that more than 4 million people called the Accra Metropolis home.
Challenges like traffic congestion, housing shortages, and environmental degradation have emerged as a result of the rapid growth in population, urbanization, and economic development.
