As a result of the improvement of numerous shopping applications and websites in Ghana over the course of the past several years, one might not be entirely incorrect if they said that deciding where to shop online in Ghana is now a bit of a challenge. Jumia is where I usually go to buy products that are sometimes hard to find in Ghana. I’ve purchased items ranging from clothes to kitchen items, mobile phones, beauty, personal care, and many more. When you order items on Jumia, you’ll need to make sure these are items you don’t actually need to use the same day or in the next couple of hours since most items you order would normally take from a week to about a month (or maybe more) if the item says “Jumia Global”.This means the item is going to be shipped from outside the country, which means you’ll have to wait a while before it gets delivered to you. On the other hand, if the item is already here in Ghana, you should expect to receive it anywhere from 2 to 7 business days.
2. Palace Mall Online
The Palace Mall Online website is a well-known and often-used online shopping site in Ghana.
By accessing the Palace Online website, you are able to enjoy the convenience of shopping from the Palace Mall without leaving the confines of your own home. Make your grocery and beverage purchases, as well as any necessary purchases of electrical items.
3. Shopnaw
Even though relatively new, Shopnaw has been the answer to most of my online shopping needs since its launch in January 2020. Just like Jumia, this app offers a range of categories to shop from, making it easier to do all your shopping via one app, instead of using different apps for different kinds of shopping.
On Shopnaw, you’ll find numerous supermarkets to shop from (most of which have different subcategories on their own like household section, baby food, groceries, beauty and personal care, healthcare, etc) This makes it a more ideal App for me since it’s even got Pharmacies, Local Markets, and Restaurants all available in one place. If you’re someone who loves same-day deliveries, this App would be more enjoyable for you since all deliveries are done within 1 hour the same day of placing your order.
4. Kikuu
Kikuu is not only available on phone, but it also has a desktop site as well. Even though this is more of a “foreign App”, Kikuu has become very popular among many Ghanaian shoppers in the last 5 years. I personally love Kikuu because unlike AliExpress & other Asian shopping Apps, you actually get your items delivered to you right at your doorstep and also within a few weeks compared to other foreign Apps from Asia which deliver after 2 or 3 months due to the far distance.
You are allowed to review your purchase after some days (which I personally think is both an advantage and disadvantage) Another thing I love about Kikuu is how you can get things at really affordable prices; some things which would be twice or more times as expensive in Ghana.
The more you buy or make purchases via the app, the higher your “badge” upgrades and you stand the chance of getting more benefits as well and enhancing your experience as well.
5. MaxMart Online Store
Just like Jumia, Shopnaw, and Kikuu, The MaxMart online store and app also gives you a variety of categories and subcategories to shop from, ranging from Homeware Department, Supermarkets, and affiliated Restaurants. Subcategories under supermarkets include Household products, organic, Pet, Health and Beauty, Bakery, Beverages, Baby, General Groceries, and more. Unlike the other Apps, The MaxMart App does not give you the option to review a purchased product. You just order your stuff and they are actually delivered to you the same day as well.
